Welcome Home.

THINKING ABOUT VISITING US?

We meet at ABBEY HALL (ST ANDREWS CHURCH), ROYAL PARADE, PL1 2AD, PLYMOUTH CITY CENTRE.

At HOUSE OF PRAYER MINISTRIES we feel that it's our responsibility to make it easy for you to come to church. We want you to be able to experience a great music, encouraging and challenging messages, friendly people and enjoyable atmosphere that are a part of our church. And we know that your first time at a church, any church, brings up some questions. How do I get there? What should I wear? What's available for my kids? What should I expect in church?

WHAT TO EXPECT?

You will discover that our services are very informal. We aren't interested in putting on a show or entertaining you.

We just want to help you learn about God and worship Him in a comfortable, non-threatening environment. There is no dress code. We all wear what we feel is most comfortable for a Sunday service.

You are welcome to join in during the worship time in whatever manner you find most comfortable. This is the time where many people stand and sing songs of commitment and love to God. You may choose to sit or stand; you may join in our singing or simply listen. No one has any expectations for you to do what others do. In fact, you will discover that everyone in the room has their own unique expressions of worship.

After the worship, we pray for ourselves, for one another, for our families and loved ones. We will hear announcements just afterwards.

We take an offering during our worship services to help with financial support of the church. As our guest, you have no obligation to give and you should feel no guilt or obligation when people are putting their offerings in the basket.

You will hear a timely, relevant message from our pastor or a guest speaker. And finally receive a prayer of blessings.

When the meeting is over, the pastor or a minister will be available to pray for you if you wish for personal prayer. You will then be encouraged to enjoy a free cup of coffee or tea with biscuits, or cake or African doughnuts. This is a great time to meet a few people and become more familiar with those who attend our church.

Do not hesitate to ask any question in relation to anything you would like to know about our church. Hope to see you soon.

WHAT IS THE SERVICE LIKE?

When you enter our facility, you will be greeted by one of our ushers; then you will be shown a place to sit, or you are free to take any seat provided for those attending the service. If you are unsure where to sit just ask the usher at the door who will happily show you a place.  If you have children, you will be asked to keep them with you during the worship time which takes approximately 40 minutes. This is a time we sing unto God, we worship and praise Him. After this time, kids from 3 to 11 years old will be leaving the main service for Kidzone (commonly called Sunday School) where they will be taken care of by Sunday School teachers. You are more than welcome to keep your child(ren) with you if you don’t want them to go to Kidzone. Kidzone will finish at the same time as the main service. If your child(ren) went to Kidzone you can pick them up yourself or you can just wait in the main Hall for them as supervisors will endeavour to deliver them to you.

There will be usher(s) at the door to answer any other questions you may have.
